Have you ever wanted to make a real movie? In this 4-week immersive camp, filmmaker and writer, Shane Wallick will guide you through the process from beginning to end in this month-long day camp for gifted and talented kids ages 9-15.
Week 1: The Art of Filmmaking: Screenwriting Camp
In this camp, you will collaborate with your team and create a story to tell. Participants will write the screenplay, learn the fundamentals of screenwriting structure and style, and use screenwriting software to write scenes for a film that will be produced, edited, and premiered on July 1st at Cyprus School of Music and the Arts.
Week 2: The Art of Filmmaking: Filming & Production
In this camp, participants will use the screenplay that was created the previous week for action-packed week of casting and shooting scenes at various locations. Participants will learn about lighting, sound, filming, and even using a drone to capture a new perspective.
Week 3: The Art of Filmmaking: Film Editing Bootcamp
You will work alone and in teams to create short audio and video projects helping you to become familiar with editing software. Be prepared to share and view some fun(ny) and creative short videos that participants create!
Week 4: The Art of Filmmaking: Final Cut & Premiere
After Film Editing Boot Camp, you will be ready to tackle editing for the final cut of the movie that was written and produced during weeks 1 and 2 of this camp series. Campers will work individually and in teams to edit and add the finishing touches to the film. On the final day of camp, it will be premiered at Cyprus School of Music and the Arts for a captive audience of parents and invitees.
