This exciting computer science class is aimed towards talented and creative children who are taking Pre-Algebra or above as their math class.
The students will be introduced to basic concepts and building blocks of computer systems. Not only will they build a computer from scratch by bringing an old junk computer to life, but they are also going to install Linux, learn how to connect to a computer using the terminal, and write simple programs in Python.
As the course progresses, they will also be introduced to physical programming using a Raspberry Pi and interfacing it with a variety of electrical components like sensors, buttons, led’s and cameras. Lastly, they will use their acquired skills to design some fun science computing projects using the Raspberry Pi.
