In this course, the students will be introduced to computer simulations of rocket construction and mission planning.
The course will introduce the Kerbal Space Planner software which can be installed on the student’s personal computer and taken home.
Students will be able to use the Kerbal software to model the “real” rockets they design and fly in the Cyprus Rocketry course, or, they can model far more extreme rockets and plan missions to Space Stations, the Moon, or the planets of our solar system.
Kerbal is designed to teach real engineering fundamentals and resource management, but it “plays” like a game and is an exceptionally fun learning tool.
