For centuries, chess has been the fundamental game for teaching and learning strategy, tactics, and resource management. In Session III we will continue teaching good basic chess strategies and playing methods, but also teach students alternative rule sets that turn chess into Battle Chess where the play is more exciting and faster paced.
In Session II students invented new playing pieces – the Archer and the Wizard, with rules to go with each. Students also invented new armies, fight-to-the-death, intervention of the gods, and much larger and diverse playing fields. We have been having a BLAST, so come learn to play Battle Chess with us, help invent this new game, and see why chess has stayed so popular for so many generations. Ages 7+
· Wednesdays 3:15 - 4:00; 8 weeks; $160 + $10 materials fee
